Messages from Mama

Welcome to my first 2017 “Write 31 Days” posts landing page.

My mother lived a life of miracles. Do you wonder if God will heal you?  If He will provide? If He will show you your life purpose?  Give you a mate?  Protect you from harm?  My mother’s life is a testimony of these answered prayers.

On October 15, 2016, my mother, Dorothy Lee Richards, passed away.

Those of you who have lost a mother know exactly how that feels. I am praying for you.

I am also praying that you enjoy these posts.  Someone once said, “Writer’s write.”  I hadn’t thought of my mother as a writer until a friend described her that way.  She grew up in the Jim Crow south, was  a Christian, mother, wife, Sunday School teacher, medical professional in a state mental hospital…and she was a writer.  She wrote to God, loved ones, children, prisoners, ministers, friends and to me.  Even though I think she could type a little, she hand wrote these messages of encouragement.

She once said while overcoming a challenge, “I’m too important to God to let one setback destroy my life.”  And, she had a few setbacks, but she also had many victories.  She lived her life as an offering, a witness, a Christian.

These article posts are to share what she wrote with you.  It is my prayer that you are encouraged by her life.

Are you looking for a soulmate?  See tomorrow’s post for a message from Mama about how my mother “saw” my father before they ever met.
